You can refresh and heat up a true classic with easily available ingredients! The sweet and sour flavour combination marries well with both potatoes and all kinds of meat dishes that we love in these parts.

 

530 g Salvest Fried sauerkraut

6 small apples

4 tbs butter

2 tbs brown sugar

0.5–1 glass natural apple juice

A handful of cranberries

 

Do so:

Clean the apples and cut them into sectors. Next, heat the butter in a large thick-bottomed pot and add the brown sugar and apple sectors. Braise the apple pieces at medium heat for 5–7 minutes until almost soft.

Add the cabbages and apple juice in the pot. Braise at low heat for 10–15 minutes until the apples are soft. Sprinkle over with some cranberries before serving.
